Liposuction: Types of liposuction
SAL, Suction – assisted liposuction -A vacuum pump is used to create high pressure to obtain the fat and discard it through a cannula. It is a delicate method for extracting fat cells from smaller areas from the face, arms and thighs.
PAL, Power-assisted liposuction – This method is similar to SAL method but the difference is that it uses a motor driven cannula which makes the removal of fat easier and quicker. This method is preferred for love handles and abdomen.
Other Liposuction Methods
Other methods that can be used include high frequency waves, laser assisted liposuction, ultrasonic waves, and waterjet liposuction.

What is Liposuction?
Liposuction also referred to as lipoplasty and liposculpture , is surgery which breaks up and "sucks" the fat from all unwanted parts of the patient. Most commonly the abdomen, love handles, buttocks, thighs, neck, chin, upper and lower back, arms and calves. A cannula is inserted through a tiny incision where the fat is physically removed via a high-pressure vacuum.
Liposuction when performed by an experienced surgeon in a properly equipped facility which meets the medical standards is safe. Results are always satisfying for the patient because they can be seen almost immediately after the procedure.
