As we age our hair naturally begins to get thinner. While some medications can help control the hair loss, the only proven method for restoration is through hair transplant. Most men and women are candidates for hair transplant as long as they have sufficient healthy follicles.

Strip Method

1. Cleaning of the Scalp

2. An anesthetic is administered to numb the area followed by a 3-4 inch extraction of a strip of scalp with a scalpel.

3. The incision is sewn closed immediatedly and is hidden by the surrounding hair.

4. Strips are divided into 500 to 2,000 tiny grafts containing just a few hairs per strip. Quantity and type of graft used is dependant on hair type, quality, and color as well as the transplantation site.

5. After the grafts are prepared, the surgeon cleans and numbs the area where the hair will be placed, creates holes or slits with a scalpel or needle, and delicately places each graft in one of the holes.

6. Operation time can between between 4-6 hours depending what the patient requires.

FUE Method (Follicular Unit Extraction)

FUE is a strand by stand method of removing healthy hair follicles directly from the scalp and grafting them individually into the bald areas of the head. Strands which are tranplanted into slots that contained previous hair helps achieve better permanency

The size of the punch needles is of the utmost importance for this technique. Using the right size for the patient reduces the damage sustained. The finer the punch needle used, the less damage is imposed onto the donor site and the more well concealed the extraction is. Hence, we do not recommend specialists to our clients who use punch needles wider than 0.95 mm.

After extraction, the selected hair roots are carefully prepared and transplanted into the balding regions. This method is also ideal for women and men who want to achieve a fuller and more forward hairline.
